[927] Not thus, O lord of devas (devānaminda), should Tathāgatas be venerated. But thus, O lord of devas, should Tathāgatas be venerated: "Rise up, O hero, victor in battle! O caravan leader, free of debt, wander in the world. Let the Blessed One teach the Dhamma — there will be those who will understand." The Paṭhamasakkanamassana Sutta (First Discourse on Homage by Sakka), the eighth.
