[947] Then, bhikkhus, the Tāvatiṃsa devas approached Sakka, lord of devas; and having approached, they said this to Sakka, lord of devas: "Here, dear sir, a certain yakkha (spirit), ugly and deformed, is seated upon your seat. Thereupon, dear sir, the Tāvatiṃsa devas deplore, grumble, and complain: 'It is astonishing indeed, sirs! It is amazing indeed, sirs! This ugly, deformed yakkha is seated upon the seat of Sakka, lord of devas!' But, dear sir, in whatever way the Tāvatiṃsa devas deplore, grumble, and complain, in just that way that yakkha becomes ever more handsome, more comely, and more graceful. Surely, dear sir, that yakkha must be one who feeds on anger!"
