[104] Dwelling at Sāvatthī... Then the bhikkhu Kaḷārakhattiya approached the Venerable Sāriputta; having approached, he exchanged greetings with the Venerable Sāriputta, and when the courteous and memorable talk was concluded, he sat down to one side. Sitting to one side, the bhikkhu Kaḷārakhattiya said this to the Venerable Sāriputta: "Friend Sāriputta, the bhikkhu Moliyaphagguna has given up the training and returned to the lower life."
"Surely, then, that venerable one did not find consolation (assāsa) in this Dhamma and Discipline."
"In that case, has the Venerable Sāriputta attained consolation in this Dhamma and Discipline?"
"Friend, I have no doubt (kaṅkhā)."
"But as to the future, friend?"
"Friend, I have no doubt (vicikicchā)."
