[128] Dwelling at Sāvatthī. … "Bhikkhus, with ignorance (avijjā) as condition, volitional formations (saṅkhārā) [come to be]; with volitional formations as condition, consciousness (viññāṇa) … Thus is the origin (samudaya) of this whole mass of suffering (dukkhakkhandha)."
