[133] "Bhikkhu, with the remainderless fading away and cessation of ignorance (avijjā), whatever contortions, wrong twistings, and vacillations there may be — whether 'What is aging and death (jarā-maraṇa), and to whom does this aging and death belong?' or 'Aging and death is one thing, and the one to whom this aging and death belongs is another,' or 'The soul (jīva) and the body are the same,' or 'The soul is one thing, the body another' — all these are abandoned by him, cut off at the root, made like a palm stump, brought to non-existence, of a nature not to arise again in the future."
