[228] Ānanda, for one who dwells contemplating danger (ādīnava) in things subject to clinging (upādāniyesu dhammesu), craving (taṇhā) ceases. With the cessation of craving there is the cessation of clinging (upādāna); with the cessation of clinging, the cessation of existence (bhava) … Thus is the cessation of this whole mass of suffering (dukkha).
