[255] When this was said, the Venerable Ānanda said this to the Blessed One: "It is time for this, Blessed One; it is time for this, Fortunate One (Sugata)—that the Blessed One should speak of the inward exploration (antaraṃ sammasaṃ). Having heard it from the Blessed One, the bhikkhus will remember it." "Then, Ānanda, listen and attend well; I will speak." "Yes, venerable sir," those bhikkhus replied to the Blessed One.
