[441] The Blessed One said this: "Bhikkhus, this round of rebirths (saṃsāra) is without discoverable beginning (anamatagga)…. For one person, bhikkhus, running on and wandering through the round of rebirths for an eon (kappa), there would be a chain of skeletons, a pile of bones, a heap of bones as great as this Mount Vepulla — if there were someone to collect them, and what was collected were not destroyed. Why is that? Because, bhikkhus, this round of rebirths is without discoverable beginning…. It is enough to be liberated."
