[442] Thus spoke the Blessed One. Having said this, the Fortunate One (Sugata), the Teacher, further said this:
"The accumulation of one person's bones through a single aeon (kappa)
would be a heap the size of a mountain — so it was said by the Great Seer.
And this has been declared to be the great mountain Vepulla,
north of Gijjhakūṭa, in Giribbaja of the Magadhans.
But when one sees with right wisdom the noble truths (ariyasacca) —
suffering (dukkha), the arising of suffering,
and the passing beyond suffering,
and the noble eightfold path (magga) leading to the stilling of suffering —
then, having transmigrated seven times at the most,
that person becomes a maker of the end of suffering
through the destruction of all fetters (saṃyojana)."
