[462] Dwelling at Sāvatthī … There the Blessed One … "Bhikkhus, this Kassapa is content (santuṭṭha) with any kind of robe whatsoever, and he speaks in praise of contentment with any kind of robe whatsoever; nor for the sake of a robe does he engage in a wrong search (anesana), in what is unbefitting. Not obtaining a robe, he is not agitated; and having obtained a robe, he uses it without being tied to it, uninfatuated, not blindly absorbed, seeing the danger in it, understanding the escape from it.
Bhikkhus, this Kassapa is content with any kind of almsfood whatsoever, and he speaks in praise of contentment with any kind of almsfood whatsoever; nor for the sake of almsfood does he engage in a wrong search, in what is unbefitting. Not obtaining almsfood, he is not agitated; and having obtained almsfood, he uses it without being tied to it, uninfatuated, not blindly absorbed, seeing the danger in it, understanding the escape from it.
Bhikkhus, this Kassapa is content with any kind of lodging whatsoever, and he speaks in praise of contentment with any kind of lodging whatsoever; nor for the sake of a lodging does he engage in a wrong search, in what is unbefitting. Not obtaining a lodging, he is not agitated; and having obtained a lodging, he uses it without being tied to it, uninfatuated, not blindly absorbed, seeing the danger in it, understanding the escape from it.
Bhikkhus, this Kassapa is content with any kind of medicinal requisites for the sick whatsoever, and he speaks in praise of contentment with any kind of medicinal requisites for the sick whatsoever; nor for the sake of medicinal requisites for the sick does he engage in a wrong search, in what is unbefitting. Not obtaining medicinal requisites for the sick, he is not agitated; and having obtained medicinal requisites for the sick, he uses them without being tied to them, uninfatuated, not blindly absorbed, seeing the danger in them, understanding the escape from them."
