[47] Thus have I heard. On one occasion the Blessed One was dwelling at Rājagaha, in the Bamboo Grove (Veḷuvana), at the Squirrels' Feeding Ground (Kalandakanivāpa). Then, in the morning, the Blessed One dressed, and taking bowl and robe, entered Rājagaha for alms. The naked ascetic (acela) Kassapa saw the Blessed One coming from afar. Having seen him, he approached the Blessed One; having approached, he exchanged greetings with the Blessed One, and when the courteous and memorable talk was concluded, he stood to one side.
