[500] Bhikkhus, whenever I wish, with the abandoning of pleasure and the abandoning of pain (dukkha), and with the previous passing away of joy and grief, I enter and dwell in the fourth jhāna (catutthaṃ jhānaṃ), which is neither-painful-nor-pleasant and includes purity of mindfulness due to equanimity. Kassapa too, bhikkhus, whenever he wishes, with the abandoning of pleasure … enters and dwells in the fourth jhāna.
