[522] The bhikkhunī Thullanandā heard: "It is said that Master Ānanda, the Videhan sage (vedehamuni), has been disparaged by Master Mahākassapa with talk of being a boy." Then the bhikkhunī Thullanandā, displeased, gave utterance to words of displeasure: "How can Master Mahākassapa, who was formerly a member of another sect, think that Master Ānanda, the Videhan sage, ought to be disparaged with talk of being a boy?" The Venerable Mahākassapa heard the bhikkhunī Thullanandā making this utterance.
