Saddhammappatirūpakasutta

Suttapiṭaka · Saṁyuttanikāya · Nidānavaggasaṁyutta · Vol. 16 · Section 533

[533] "Kassapa, the earth element (pathavī-dhātu) does not make the true Dhamma (saddhamma) disappear; the water element (āpo-dhātu) does not make the true Dhamma disappear; the fire element (tejo-dhātu) does not make the true Dhamma disappear; the wind element (vāyo-dhātu) does not make the true Dhamma disappear. Rather, it is the foolish persons (moghapurisā) who arise right here who make this true Dhamma disappear. Suppose, Kassapa, a ship were to sink all at once (ādikeneva). It is not in that way, Kassapa, that the disappearance of the true Dhamma comes about."
