[534] "Kassapa, there are these five detrimental things (okkamaniyā dhammā) that lead to the decay and disappearance of the true Dhamma (saddhamma). What five? Here, Kassapa, the bhikkhus, bhikkhunīs, laymen, and laywomen dwell without respect and deference toward the Teacher; they dwell without respect and deference toward the Dhamma; they dwell without respect and deference toward the Saṅgha; they dwell without respect and deference toward the training; they dwell without respect and deference toward concentration (samādhi). These, Kassapa, are the five detrimental things that lead to the decay and disappearance of the true Dhamma."
