[667] Dwelling at Sāvatthī ... "Bhikkhus, if one were to give a gift of a hundred pots (okkhā) [of food] in the morning, if one were to give a gift of a hundred pots at midday, and if one were to give a gift of a hundred pots in the evening; and if one were to develop a mind of loving-kindness (mettācitta) in the morning, even for the mere time it takes to pull a cow's udder, or if one were to develop a mind of loving-kindness at midday, even for the mere time it takes to pull a cow's udder, or if one were to develop a mind of loving-kindness in the evening, even for the mere time it takes to pull a cow's udder — this would be of greater fruit than that. Therefore, bhikkhus, you should train thus: 'Our liberation of mind (cetovimutti) by loving-kindness will be developed, cultivated, made a vehicle, made a basis, carried out, consolidated, and well undertaken.' Thus, bhikkhus, should you train."
The fourth.
