[675] The Blessed One said this: "Bhikkhus, at present the Licchavis dwell using blocks of wood as pillows (kaliṅgarūpadhānā), heedful and ardent in their training (upāsana). King Ajātasattu of Magadha, son of the Vedehī (Vedehiputta), gains no opening against them, gains no foothold. But in the future, bhikkhus, the Licchavis will become delicate, with soft and tender hands and feet; they will lie sleeping upon soft beds with thick pillows until the rising of the sun. Then King Ajātasattu of Magadha, son of the Vedehī, will gain an opening against them, will gain a foothold."
