[681] "Bhikkhus, once in the past a cat stood at an alley between houses, by a drain and a rubbish heap, waiting for a young mouse, thinking: 'When this young mouse goes out in search of food, right there I shall seize it and eat it.' Then, bhikkhus, the young mouse went out in search of food. The cat seized it and, hastily chewing its flesh, swallowed it down. That young mouse ate the cat's intestines and ate its mesentery. On that account the cat met with death, or with deadly suffering."
