[680] He was dwelling at Sāvatthī … Now on that occasion a certain bhikkhu was engaging in visits among families beyond the proper measure. The bhikkhus said to him: "Let not the venerable one engage in visits among families beyond the proper measure." But that bhikkhu, being admonished by the bhikkhus, took no delight in it. Then a number of bhikkhus approached the Blessed One; having approached, they paid homage to the Blessed One and sat down to one side. Sitting to one side, those bhikkhus said this to the Blessed One: "Here, venerable sir, a certain bhikkhu is engaging in visits among families beyond the proper measure. The bhikkhus said to him: 'Let not the venerable one engage in visits among families beyond the proper measure.' But that bhikkhu, being admonished by the bhikkhus, takes no delight in it."
