[695] "Just as, friend, a few small grains of salt beside a great pot of salt serve merely for setting alongside it [in comparison], even so we, beside the Venerable Sāriputta, serve merely for setting alongside him. For the Venerable Sāriputta has been extolled, praised, and commended by the Blessed One in many ways:
'As Sāriputta is in wisdom,
in virtue, and in peace —
even a bhikkhu who has gone beyond
could at best be his equal.'"
Thus those two great nāgas (mahānāgā) rejoiced together in each other's well-spoken, well-uttered words.
