[305] But, bhikkhus, the instructed noble disciple — one who has seen the noble ones … well trained in the Dhamma of superior persons (sappurisadhamma) — does not regard form (rūpa) as self, nor self as possessing form, nor form as in self, nor self as in form. This, bhikkhus, is called an instructed noble disciple who is not bound by the bondage of form, not bound by bondage inner and outer, one who sees the near shore, one who sees the far shore; he is freed from suffering (dukkha), I say. … He does not regard perception … volitional formations … He does not regard consciousness as self … This, bhikkhus, is called an instructed noble disciple who is not bound by the bondage of consciousness, not bound by bondage inner and outer, one who sees the near shore, one who sees the far shore; he is freed from suffering, I say.
