[480] And that, bhikkhus, which is the cessation (nirodha) of the eye, its subsiding, its passing away — that is the cessation of suffering (dukkha), the subsiding of diseases, the passing away of aging and death (jarāmaraṇa). That which is the cessation of the ear … That which is the cessation of the nose. That which is the cessation of the tongue. That which is the cessation of the body. That which is the cessation of the mind (mano), its subsiding, its passing away — that is the cessation of suffering, the subsiding of diseases, the passing away of aging and death.
