[507] At Sāvatthī. Bhikkhus, the desire and lust (chandarāga) for form — this is a corruption (upakkilesa) of the mind (citta) … the desire and lust for consciousness — this is a corruption of the mind. When, bhikkhus, a bhikkhu has abandoned the corruption of the mind in these six cases, his mind (citta) inclines to renunciation (nekkhamma); the mind, developed by renunciation, appears workable with regard to those dhammas that are to be realized by direct knowledge (abhiññā).

Eye, and form, and consciousness; contact and feeling (vedanā);
