[518] At Sāvatthī. There… "Bhikkhus, there are these four modes of generation (yoni) of nāgas. What four? Nāgas born from eggs (aṇḍaja), nāgas born from wombs (jalābuja), nāgas born from moisture (saṃsedaja), and nāgas of spontaneous birth (upapātika). These, bhikkhus, are the four modes of generation of nāgas."
