Saṅgayhasutta

Suttapiṭaka · Saṁyuttanikāya · Saḷāyatanavaggasaṁyutta · Vol. 18 · Section 138

[138] He is not impassioned by mental phenomena (dhammā); having known a mental phenomenon, he is mindful (paṭissato). With a mind (citta) free of lust he experiences it, and does not remain clinging to it. As, for one thus knowing a mental phenomenon and even while experiencing feeling (vedanā), [suffering] is worn away and not heaped up — so he fares, mindful. For one thus not heaping up suffering (dukkha) … he is said to be in the presence of Nibbāna. It is in this way, Māluṅkyaputta, that the meaning of what was spoken by me in brief should be seen in detail.
