[167] Bhikkhus, there are forms cognizable by the eye that are wished for, desired, agreeable, dear, connected with sensuality, enticing to lust. If a bhikkhu delights in them, welcomes them, and remains attached to them, this bhikkhu is called one bound among forms cognizable by the eye, one who has gone to Māra's dwelling, come under Māra's control; the Evil One may do with him as he wishes. … Bhikkhus, there are tastes cognizable by the tongue … Bhikkhus, there are mental phenomena cognizable by the mind that are wished for, desired, agreeable, dear, connected with sensuality, enticing to lust.
