[182] "There are, Pañcasikha, forms cognizable by the eye that are wished for, desired, agreeable … There are, Pañcasikha, mental phenomena cognizable by the mind (citta) that are wished for, desired, agreeable, pleasing, connected with sensuality, provocative of lust. If a bhikkhu does not delight in that, does not welcome it, does not remain holding on to it, then, as he does not delight in it, does not welcome it, does not remain holding on to it, his consciousness (viññāṇa) does not become dependent upon that, nor is there clinging (upādāna) to that. Without clinging, Pañcasikha, a bhikkhu attains final Nibbāna (parinibbāyati).
"This, Pañcasikha, is the cause, this is the reason why some beings here attain final Nibbāna in this very life."
