[181] "There are, Pañcasikha, forms cognizable by the eye … There are, Pañcasikha, mental phenomena (dhammā) cognizable by the mind (citta) that are wished for, desirable, agreeable, endearing, connected with sensuality, provocative of lust. If a bhikkhu delights in them, welcomes them, and remains holding to them, then, as he delights in them, welcomes them, and remains holding to them, consciousness dependent upon that arises, and there is clinging to that. A bhikkhu with clinging, Pañcasikha, does not attain final Nibbāna. This, Pañcasikha, is the cause, this is the condition why some beings here do not attain final Nibbāna in this very life."
