[25] "Bhikkhus, I will teach you the Dhamma for the abandoning of all. Listen to it. And what, bhikkhus, is the Dhamma for the abandoning of all? The eye, bhikkhus, should be abandoned; forms should be abandoned; eye-consciousness should be abandoned; eye-contact should be abandoned; and whatever feeling (vedanā) arises with eye-contact as condition—whether pleasant, painful, or neither-painful-nor-pleasant—that too should be abandoned. The ear should be abandoned…. The nose should be abandoned…. The tongue should be abandoned; tastes should be abandoned; tongue-consciousness should be abandoned; tongue-contact should be abandoned; and whatever feeling arises with tongue-contact as condition—whether pleasant, painful, or neither-painful-nor-pleasant—that too should be abandoned. The body should be abandoned…. The mind should be abandoned; mental phenomena (dhammā) should be abandoned; mind-consciousness should be abandoned; mind-contact should be abandoned; and whatever feeling arises with mind-contact as condition—whether pleasant, painful, or neither-painful-nor-pleasant—that too should be abandoned. This, bhikkhus, is the Dhamma for the abandoning of all." The second [sutta].
