[405] Moreover, bhikkhus, I have declared the successive cessation of formations (anupubbasaṅkhārānaṃ nirodho): for one who has attained the first jhāna, speech has ceased … For a bhikkhu whose taints (āsava) are destroyed, lust (rāga) has ceased, hatred has ceased, delusion has ceased.
