[426] "Bhikkhus, there are these five cords of sensual pleasure (kāmaguṇā) … [elided in the Pali]. It is possible, bhikkhus, that wanderers of other sects might speak thus: 'The ascetic Gotama speaks of the cessation of perception and feeling (saññāvedayitanirodha), and he declares it to be included in happiness. What is this? How is this?' Bhikkhus, when wanderers of other sects speak thus, they should be told: 'Friends, the Blessed One does not declare something to be included in happiness with reference only to pleasant feeling (vedanā); rather, friends, wherever happiness is found, and in whatever way, the Tathāgata declares that to be included in happiness.'"
