[425] Bhikkhus, two feelings (vedanā) have been spoken of by me by a method of exposition (pariyāya); three feelings have been spoken of by me by a method of exposition; five feelings have been spoken of by me by a method of exposition; six feelings have been spoken of by me by a method of exposition; eighteen feelings have been spoken of by me by a method of exposition; thirty-six feelings have been spoken of by me by a method of exposition; one hundred and eight feelings have been spoken of by me by a method of exposition.
Thus, bhikkhus, the Dhamma has been taught by me through methods of exposition. When the Dhamma has thus been taught by me through methods of exposition, of those who will not concede, will not allow, will not approve of what is well spoken and well stated by one another, this may be expected: they will dwell given to quarrels, given to strife, fallen into disputes, stabbing one another with verbal daggers.
Thus, bhikkhus, the Dhamma has been taught by me through methods of exposition. When the Dhamma has thus been taught by me through methods of exposition, of those who will concede, will allow, will approve of what is well spoken and well stated by one another, this may be expected: they will dwell in concord, in mutual gladness, without dispute, blending like milk and water, regarding one another with eyes of affection.
