[585] "Therefore you should train yourselves thus: 'We shall be possessed of unwavering confidence (aveccappasāda) in the Buddha: "Thus indeed is that Blessed One: an arahant, perfectly self-awakened, accomplished in true knowledge and conduct, well-gone, knower of the world, unsurpassed charioteer of persons to be tamed, teacher of devas and humans, the Buddha, the Blessed One." We shall be possessed of unwavering confidence in the Dhamma: "Well expounded by the Blessed One is the Dhamma, directly visible, timeless, inviting one to come and see, leading onwards, to be experienced individually by the wise." We shall be possessed of unwavering confidence in the Saṅgha: "Practicing well is the Saṅgha of the Blessed One's disciples; practicing uprightly is the Saṅgha of the Blessed One's disciples; practicing methodically is the Saṅgha of the Blessed One's disciples; practicing properly is the Saṅgha of the Blessed One's disciples — that is, the four pairs of persons, the eight individual persons; this Saṅgha of the Blessed One's disciples is worthy of gifts, worthy of hospitality, worthy of offerings, worthy of reverential salutation, the unsurpassed field of merit for the world." And whatever in our family is fit to be given (deyyadhamma), all of it shall be shared unreservedly with those who are virtuous and of good character.' Thus should you train yourselves."
Then Citta the householder, having encouraged his friends and companions, his relatives and kinsmen, in [confidence in] the Buddha, the Dhamma, and the Saṅgha, and in generosity (cāga), passed away.
The Questions of Citta the Householder are concluded.⁴

The Fetter,¹ the two on Isidatta, Mahaka and also Kāmabhū,
Godatta and the Nigaṇṭha, with the Naked Ascetic — the Sick One.²
