[78] Then the Venerable Upavāṇa approached the Blessed One … Sitting to one side, the Venerable Upavāṇa said this to the Blessed One: "Venerable sir, it is said, 'The Dhamma is directly visible; the Dhamma is directly visible.' In what way, venerable sir, is the Dhamma directly visible, immediate, inviting one to come and see, onward-leading, to be personally experienced by the wise?"
