[1004] Then a number of bhikkhus approached the Blessed One; having approached and paid homage to the Blessed One, they sat down to one side. Sitting to one side, those bhikkhus said this to the Blessed One: "Venerable sir, the Venerable Piṇḍolabhāradvāja has declared final knowledge (aññā) thus: 'I understand: Birth (jāti) is destroyed, the holy life (brahmacariya) has been lived, what had to be done has been done, there is no more coming to any state of being.'"
