Suttapiṭaka · Saṁyuttanikāya · Mahāvaggasaṁyutta · Vol. 19 · Section 1013

[1013] "Venerable sir, whatever mindfulness he has, that is his faculty of mindfulness (satindriya). For, venerable sir, when a noble disciple (ariyasāvaka) possesses faith (saddhā), has aroused energy, and has established mindfulness, this may be expected of him: that, having made relinquishment (vossagga) the object, he will gain concentration (samādhi), he will gain one-pointedness of mind."
