[1036] "And what, bhikkhus, is the method (pariyāya) by relying on which a bhikkhu who is one beyond training (asekha), standing on the plane of one beyond training, understands: 'I am one beyond training'? Here, bhikkhus, a bhikkhu who is one beyond training understands the five faculties (indriya): the faculty of faith (saddhindriya), the faculty of energy (vīriyindriya), the faculty of mindfulness (satindriya), the faculty of concentration (samādhindriya), the faculty of wisdom (paññindriya). He dwells having contacted with the body that which is their destination, their culmination, their fruit, their final end; and having pierced it through with wisdom, he sees. This too, bhikkhus, is the method by relying on which a bhikkhu who is one beyond training, standing on the plane of one beyond training, understands: 'I am one beyond training.'"
