[1134] Then the Blessed One, mindful and clearly comprehending, relinquished the life-formation (āyusaṅkhāra) at the Pāvāla Shrine (cetiya). And when the life-formation had been relinquished by the Blessed One, there was a great earthquake, frightening and hair-raising, and the celestial drums (devadundubhi) burst forth.
