[1171] Bhikkhus, whatever ascetics or brahmins in the past were of great psychic power (mahiddhikā) and great might, all of them were so because of having developed and cultivated these same four bases of spiritual power (iddhipāda). Bhikkhus, whatever ascetics or brahmins in the future will be of great psychic power and great might, all of them will be so because of having developed and cultivated these same four bases of spiritual power. Bhikkhus, whatever ascetics or brahmins at present are of great psychic power and great might, all of them are so because of having developed and cultivated these same four bases of spiritual power.
