Suttapiṭaka · Saṁyuttanikāya · Mahāvaggasaṁyutta · Vol. 19 · Section 1184

[1184] And how, bhikkhus, does a bhikkhu dwell percipient of after and before: 'As before, so after; as after, so before'? Here, bhikkhus, a bhikkhu's perception (saññā) of after and before is well grasped, well attended to, well sustained, well penetrated with wisdom (paññā). It is in this way, bhikkhus, that a bhikkhu dwells percipient of after and before: 'As before, so after; as after, so before.'
