[1224] "And what, Ānanda, is the development of the bases for spiritual power (iddhipādabhāvanā)? Here, Ānanda, a bhikkhu develops the basis for spiritual power (iddhipāda) endowed with concentration (samādhi) due to desire (chanda) and volitional formations of striving. He develops the basis for spiritual power endowed with concentration due to energy … concentration due to mind (citta) … concentration due to investigation (vīmaṃsā) and volitional formations of striving. This, Ānanda, is called the development of the bases for spiritual power."
