[1223] And what, Ānanda, is the basis of spiritual power (iddhipāda)? Whatever path (magga), whatever way of practice, Ānanda, leads to the gaining of spiritual power (iddhi), to the obtaining of spiritual power — this, Ānanda, is called the basis of spiritual power.
