[1226] Then the Blessed One said this to the Venerable Ānanda, who was sitting to one side: "What now, Ānanda, is psychic power (iddhi)? What is a base of psychic power (iddhipāda)? What is the development of the bases of psychic power? What is the practice leading to the development of the bases of psychic power?" "Venerable sir, our teachings are rooted in the Blessed One, guided by the Blessed One …" (elided in the Pali).
