[1369] On one occasion the Venerable Lomasakaṃbhiya was dwelling among the Sakyans at Kapilavatthu, in Nigrodha's Park. Then Mahānāma the Sakyan approached the Venerable Lomasakaṃbhiya; having approached, he paid homage to the Venerable Lomasakaṃbhiya and sat down to one side. Sitting to one side, Mahānāma the Sakyan said this to the Venerable Lomasakaṃbhiya: "Venerable sir, is that very dwelling (vihāra) of a trainee (sekha) the same as the dwelling of the Tathāgata? Or is the dwelling of a trainee one thing, and the dwelling of the Tathāgata another?"
"Friend Mahānāma, that very dwelling of a trainee is not the dwelling of the Tathāgata. The dwelling of a trainee, friend Mahānāma, is one thing; the dwelling of the Tathāgata is another."
