[1470] "Ānanda, the bhikkhu Sāḷha, who has died, through the destruction of the taints (āsava), had realized for himself with direct knowledge, in this very life, the taintless liberation of mind (cetovimutti) and liberation by wisdom (paññāvimutti), and having entered upon it, dwelt therein. Ānanda, the bhikkhunī Nandā, who has died, through the utter destruction of the five lower fetters, has been spontaneously reborn (opapātikā) and will attain final Nibbāna there, not subject to returning from that world. Ānanda, the layman Sudatta, who has died, through the utter destruction of three fetters and the attenuation of greed, hatred, and delusion, is a once-returner (sakadāgāmī); having come to this world only once more, he will make an end of suffering (dukkha). Ānanda, the laywoman Sujātā, who has died, through the utter destruction of three fetters, is a stream-enterer (sotāpannā), not subject to the states of deprivation, fixed in destiny, bound for full awakening (sambodhi)."
