[1494] "Bhikkhus, those for whom you have compassion, and those who would think you worth listening to—whether friends or colleagues, relatives or kinsmen—they, bhikkhus, should be encouraged in, settled in, and established in the four factors of stream-entry (sotāpattiyaṅga). In which four? They should be encouraged in, settled in, and established in unwavering confidence (aveccappasāda) in the Buddha: 'Thus indeed is that Blessed One … teacher of devas and humans, the Buddha, the Blessed One.'"
