Suttapiṭaka · Saṁyuttanikāya · Mahāvaggasaṁyutta · Vol. 19 · Section 1511

[1511] "Do not fear, Mahānāma! Do not fear, Mahānāma! Your death will not be a bad one; your passing away will not be bad. Mahānāma, a noble disciple (ariyasāvaka) who possesses four dhammas slants toward Nibbāna, slopes toward Nibbāna, inclines toward Nibbāna. Which four? Here, Mahānāma, a noble disciple possesses confirmed confidence (aveccappasāda) in the Buddha: 'Thus indeed is that Blessed One … teacher of devas and humans, the Buddha, the Blessed One.' … in the Dhamma … in the Saṅgha … He possesses the virtues dear to the noble ones — unbroken … conducive to concentration (samādhi)."
