[1525] "Here, venerable sir, some issue concerning the Dhamma (dhammasamuppāda) might arise: on one side might be the Blessed One, and on the other side the Saṅgha of bhikkhus, the Saṅgha of bhikkhunīs, the laymen, the laywomen, and the world with its devas, with Māra, with Brahmā, this generation with its ascetics and brahmins, with its devas and humans. Whichever side the Blessed One was on, on that very side would I be. Venerable sir, may the Blessed One remember me as one who has such confidence."
