[1531] Here again, Mahānāma, a certain person is possessed of unwavering confidence (aveccappasāda) in the Buddha: "Thus indeed is that Blessed One … teacher of devas and humans, Buddha, Blessed One." In the Dhamma … in the Saṅgha …. He is one of joyous wisdom, of swift wisdom, yet is not possessed of liberation (vimutti). With the utter destruction of the five lower fetters, he is of spontaneous rebirth (opapātika), one who attains final Nibbāna there, not subject to returning from that world. This person too, Mahānāma, is freed from hell, freed from the animal womb, freed from the domain of ghosts (pittivisaya), freed from the plane of misery, the bad destination, the lower world.
