[407] Bhikkhus, these seven factors of awakening (bojjhaṅga), when developed and cultivated, arise, not having arisen before, only with the appearance of a Tathāgata, an Arahant, a Perfectly Enlightened One (sammāsambuddha), and not otherwise. What are the seven? The awakening factor of mindfulness … the awakening factor of equanimity. These seven factors of awakening, bhikkhus, when developed and cultivated, arise, not having arisen before, only with the appearance of a Tathāgata, an Arahant, a Perfectly Enlightened One, and not otherwise.
